Metal Fabricator / Welder

We are currently seeking for a mechanically minded Metal Fabricator / Welder with steel fabrication and mobile earthmoving machinery repair & maintenance experience who is looking for a long-term position in a motivated and skilled team.

Working based at our Bayswater workshop. You will be part of an experienced, hardworking team of skilled people who consistently deliver quality products. You will enjoy a variety of projects in a fast-paced work environment and the opportunity to utilise your knowledge, expertise and organisational skills and work with Tier 1 Clients.

About the Position:

This position is responsible for the efficient and effective fabrication of steel products, aftermarket components and the repair and refurbishment of mining equipment in accordance with Australian and our company standards. Successful candidates will be working across:

• Fuel Tanks
• Water Tanks
• Aftermarket customised mining equipment and tooling
• Platforms and handrails 
• Transportation and maintenance skids/frames/stands
• Hoppers and Chutes
• Repair and refurbishment of fuel tanks
• General steel fabrication
• Reading and understanding of Off Drawings / Plans
• FCAW 3G & 4G and FCAW 3F & 4F positions required (as a minimum)
• Pre-heating knowledge and culture.
• Work with Tier 1 Clients

About you

The ideal candidate would be a mechanically minded professional person who possesses the following: 

• Full trade qualification in Engineering/Fabrication.
• Sound knowledge of the AS 1554 Part 1.
• FCAW 3G & 4G and FCAW 3F & 4F positions required (as a minimum)
• Experience welding, structural steel work, plate work, mining equipment and structural repairs.
• Ability to carry out duties safely and efficiently.
• Interpret engineering drawings including fabrication details, specifications and standards.
• Adaptable with eagerness to work on a diverse range of equipment and machinery.
• Thorough practical working knowledge of the operation of appropriate machinery, tools, welding, and cutting equipment.
• Ability to work autonomously, as well as part of a team.
• Able to manage time effectively
• Demonstrated initiative and drive to foster continuous improvement
• Ability to apply appropriate problem-solving techniques to technical and related issues

Important Filters for This Position

• Must have Certificate III in Engineering/Fabrication or above.
• Must have 7+ years’ experience as Metal Fabricator / Welder.
• FCAW 3G & 4G and FCAW 3F & 4F positions required (as a minimum).
• Must have reliable transport and Current 'C' Class Drivers Licence or above.
• Must have the right to work in Australia.

Remuneration

Employed on a casual basis and depending on your experience the pay rate will vary between:

• $45 - $50.00 per hour (Flat)
• + Super 
• Paid fortnightly.
• Then after 3-month successful probation full-time offer available for the right applicant.
