The Company
Salt has teamed up with a Global SaaS organisation based in Melbourne who is currently seeking a Mid-Level Backend Engineer to join one of their innovative Software Engineering teams on a permanent basis.
Our client is currently going through an exciting period of growth as they look to revolutionise the Energy sector by building sustainable and affordable solutions, helping them to reduce carbon emissions.
Please note, this is a hybrid role based in Melbourne and all applicants must have full working rights in Australia to apply for this position.
The Role
As a Mid-Level Backend Engineer, you will be joining a newly formed squad where you will help with the development of various new modules for their Retail platform.
Key Skills and Competencies
The successful Senior Backend Engineer should have the following skill set:
Essential Skills
- Experience working as a Mid-Level or in a similar position
- In depth experience in Backend Software Development
- Hands-on experience using TypeScript to build Backend applications
- Commercial experience working with AWS
- Proficient in Test Driven Development (TDD)
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Full working rights in Australia
Desired Skills
- Experienced with one of the following programming languages; Java, Kotlin, Scala, Groovy
- Understanding in Event-Driven Architecture (Kafka)
- Previous experience working on projects in the Utilities/Energy industry
