About the role

This Intern will support and conduct fauna and flora spring monitoring activities at Hamelin, Eurardy and Charles Darwin reserves in Mid West WA. Working with BHA ecologists, the Intern will assist in organising equipment, safety procedures, volunteers, on-ground work, data capture and management, and general logistics. 

What you'll need to succeed
  • A completed university qualification or TAFE Certificate III and above in ecology, conservation, zoology, botany or other relevant discipline.
  • A commitment and passion for nature conservation and the objectives and values of Bush Heritage.
  • Practical experience in and ability to learn monitoring techniques and identification of Western Australian fauna and flora.
  • Organisational and communication skills.
  • A desire to learn, develop new skills, collaborate, and be innovative.
  • High level of computer and data management skills.
  • Well developed interpersonal skills and capability to work effectively with a diverse ranges of people (staff, volunteers and supporters).
  • Current manual driver’s licence, off-road experience advantageous.
