St Francis Catholic College, Edmondson Park is located near the junction of the M5 and M7 motorways. It is a rapidly growing K-12 school with a student population nearing 1450 students in 2024. The college is one school, not a traditional primary school and high school coexisting on the same site. As such, the college is organised into Junior Years Learning (K-4), Middle Years Learning (5-8), and Senior Years Learning (9-12). St Francis is entering its 7th Stage of Building Development and offers state-of-the-art learning & specialist KLA facilities.
A permanent full time position commencing 30 January 2024. The successful applicant will be required to lead a team of committed professionals in particular the College's KLA Leaders and be a member of the College's Leadership Team.
The Middle Leader (3pt) - Curriculum (Years 5-12) works collaboratively with the Principal, Deputy Principal, AP Learning and Teaching, and the Leaders of Learning Junior and Middle Years. The successful applicant will take responsibility for meeting NESA requirements in Stages 3-6 and lead the work of KLA Leaders. They are part of the College Leadership Team and support the Principal in implementing the vision and mission of the college, to support growth in faith and improvement in learning for students.
ESSENTIAL SELECTION CRITERIA
- A deep understanding and commitment to the mission and purpose of the Catholic School within the broader Catholic Church.
- A commitment to academic excellence and sound knowledge of contemporary approaches to pedagogy including the nature of assessment and differentiated learning.
- The demonstrated ability to build a positive learning culture of shared responsibility for quality teaching and student learning growth, informed by data.
- The demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and work collaboratively with staff.
- The ability to lead learning and foster innovation and creativity in a collaborative environment.
- Working knowledge and understanding of all Stages of Learning (3-6).
- A comprehensive understanding of NESA requirements and a proven ability to implement effective teaching programs.
- Held the position of KLA Coordinator/ Leader for a minimum of 3 years.
- Well-developed interpersonal skills.
- Well-developed oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Appropriate qualifications and experience to teach in at least one KLA area to HSC level.
- Level C Accreditation aligned in accordance with the 'Accreditation to Work, Teach and Lead in Systemic Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Wollongong' policy or a commitment to gain within the first contractual period.
This role is classified as child-related work and therefore a Working With Children Check (WWCC) is required before your employment with CEDoW.
