We are searching for a Midrange System Administrator to work with our client in Darwin on a initial 8-month contract.

About the Role
We are looking for a suitably skilled IT professional to provide senior systems administration services within the Midrange Services unit. The successful candidate’s primary focus will be to provide high level advice, system administration, maintenance and support for Midrange product lines. The primary platforms will be Microsoft Windows server and RedHat Linux.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform system administration and provide technical input for the support of midrange server technology stack focusing on Windows Server technologies (Windows Server 2016 and above) and RedHat Linux (version 7 and above).
- Administer VMware products for virtualisation and automation.
- Manage an enterprise backup product such as VEEAM backup and Commvault Simpana.
- Manage an enterprise storage product such as PURE storage and Hitachi Data Systems storage
- Perform system administration of Redhat Linux, Satellite, and Ansible.
- Perform system administration of Active Directory, IIS Installation, configuration and web application deployment
- Be skilled in complementary Microsoft products including SQL Server.
- Apply patches, configure servers with security hardening baselines, including malware and intrusion prevention and protection, and proactive scanning.
- Design and consult with clients to implement end to end solutions and work with vendors to ensure successful implementations.
- Develop automation capability to improve productivity across various midrange products.
- Exposure to public and hybrid cloud capabilities and environments.
- Ability to work within a team environment using an ITIL methodology with a job allocation system. Be able to methodically diagnose and resolve complex issues as they arise.
- Provide administration advice and feedback to customers with regards to the standard day to day management of customer applications, including capacity planning and customer requested ad-hoc reporting.
- Ensure that the security of corporate data and applications is maintained and monitored on behalf of client agencies.
- By request, provide input into project proposals and business cases.
- Participate in a 24 hour call-out roster and attend out-of-hours work as required.
Experience / Criteria
- Microsoft certification in Windows Server technologies.
- Redhat certifications an advantage.
- VMWare certification an advantage.
- Well-developed experience and understanding of a Storage Area Network and Enterprise backup product.
- Experience in a midrange application hosting environment would be advantageous.
Must be able to obtain a Police Clearance.
The successful candidate must be based in or prepared to relocate to Darwin for the term of the contract.
