Our Kathleen Valley Lithium Project in Western Australia is a Tier-1 battery metals asset with grade and scale. It is one of the largest and highest-grade hard rock lithium deposits in the world and is at the forefront of Liontown's low-carbon future. It is one of the few lithium projects globally in construction today with first production targeted for mid-2024.
About the role
Liontown Resources Limited seeks a skilled and passionate Geologist to join our team for an 8|6 swing at Kathleen Valley.
As a Geologist at Liontown Resources, you'll be diving into exciting projects and utilising your expertise in various essential tasks:
- Meter Marking: Precision is key when it comes to marking meters in geological exploration, and your attention to detail will be invaluable.
- Orientation: Your ability to understand and interpret geological orientations will play a pivotal role in our operations.
- RQD (Rock Quality Designation): Your knowledge and proficiency in assessing RQD will ensure accurate rock quality assessments.
- Recovery: Experience in maximizing recovery rates will contribute significantly to our exploration success.
- Photos & Documentation: Capturing and documenting geological findings through photography and meticulous records will be part of your routine.
- SG (Specific Gravity): Your understanding of SG and its implications in mining will be crucial in our exploration processes.
- Core Cutting: Proficiency in core cutting techniques is essential for extracting valuable insights from geological samples.
- Sampling: Your expertise in sampling methodologies will aid in accurate data collection and analysis.
- QAQC (Quality Assurance/Quality Control): Implementing rigorous QAQC procedures will ensure the reliability and accuracy of our geological data.
- Thoroughly documenting geological and geotechnical characteristics of drill core with precision and dependability.
- Building effective communication bridges with diamond drilling contractors to cultivate smooth collaboration.
- Daily coordination with field personnel to streamline operations and facilitate efficient information exchange.
- Actively participating in geological interpretation and modelling tasks to enrich project insights with your expertise.
- Conducting underground mapping of development drives to contribute to a comprehensive understanding of subsurface conditions.
- Assisting in prompt input and reporting of production data on a daily and weekly basis, ensuring operational efficiency and transparency.
- Proficiency in utilising Desswick and related geological software for enhanced project management and analysis.
You will be a degree qualified Geologist with at least two years relevant experience.
