About the Role
We have an exciting opening for a dynamic and inquisitive Mine Geologist to become part of our clients Mine Technical Services team at Paraburdoo. In this six-month opportunity, you will actively participate in the daily tasks of a Mine Geologist, contributing to the assessment of the location and grade quality of our exceptional Mineral Deposit. Your contribution will be essential in guaranteeing the production of high-quality lump and fines products. With a collaborative mindset, you will possess the skills to effectively engage and influence a wide range of internal stakeholders.
This position offers a fantastic chance to join the Mine Geology team responsible for overseeing the grade quality of the iron ore deposit, from drilling to crusher delivery, and to strive for optimal reconciliation alignment between the Block model and the end product.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct daily model interpretation and mineralogical logging.
- QAQC checks to investigate issues and find solutions.
- Regular Stockpile inspections to ensure minimal ore dilution.
- Site based modelling through our 3D blockout process.
- Weekly and monthly Model Reconciliation.
Skills and Experience
- A Bachelor's degree qualification or greater in a relevant Geology discipline is required
- Western Australian C Class Drivers Licence
- Previous mine geology job will be beneficial
- Have a can do attitude, have a genuine passion for learning, and your enthusiastic for improvement
- Prior exposure to Mine Geology within the resources industry will be beneficial
- Understanding of the geology of Hamersley Basin.
- Experience with Vulcan, Microsoft suite, and the collection, validation and interpretation of QAQC data
