About Us
Nathan River is the proud owner and operator of the Nathan River Project. We have successfully integrated the entire pit-to-ship logistics chain, including open-pit mines, critical infrastructure, a private haul road, ship loading facilities, and specialized transhipment marine vessels.
Applicants are being sought for the position of Mining Production Engineer. Working in a small, strong team orientated operation, reporting to the Project Manager you will commute from Darwin on a 14 days on 14 days off roster.

Key responsibilities will include:
- Safety and environmental awareness along with a regard for the value of teamwork;
- Optimisation and implementation of the Short Term Plan to ensure all goals are achieved;
- Daily production data analysis and reporting with a focus on Business Improvement/Opportunity;
- Preparation of periodic reports for management;
- Analysis of production information and variance to budget / estimate;
- Input into the short-term planning and scheduling process;
- Support of Drill and Blast Contractors in preparation of drill and blast plans;
- Pro-active approach to Business Improvement opportunities for Nathan River; and
- Ownership of BI initiatives as dedicated projects in Mine Production and drill and blast areas.
Ideally you will have:
- A recognised qualification in Mining or a related discipline;
- A strong background in Mine Planning and Drill & Blast in an open pit environment;
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills;
- A highly consultative approach with other departments and contractors; and
- Previous drill and blast experience will also be advantageous.
- An appreciation of bulk ore movement in a seasonal environment
A sound working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite of programs is essential. Previous experience with mine-planning software including Surpac & Geovia Minesched would be advantageous.
