Having recently been awarded a Kalgoorlie based, greenfield mining contract, we are looking to add to our Technical Services team with the addition of a Mine Surveyor.
This role will be offered on an 8/6 FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Kalgoorlie roster.
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated Mine Surveyor with a minimum of 1 years experience in open pit mining to support our operations. Reporting to the Senior Surveyor, you will play a crucial role in providing accurate survey data and technical support to optimise mining activities and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct precise and timely surveying of open pit mining areas, including bench and stockpile surveys.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining survey control networks to support mining operations and ensure accurate excavation and blasting.
- Monitor and report on pit development, ore extraction, and waste management activities.
- Generate detailed survey plans, maps, and sections to support mine planning and operational decision-making.
- Collaborate closely with mining engineers, geologists, and operational teams to provide essential survey support.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and environmental regulations during surveying activities.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives aimed at optimising survey processes and data accuracy.
Key Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification in Surveying, Geomatics, or related field.
- Desire to develop design skills
- Minimum of 1 years experience in mine surveying within open pit gold mining operations.
- Proficiency in using surveying instruments and software (e.g., Total Stations, GPS, Mine Planning Software).
- Strong understanding of surveying principles, including volume calculations, pit design, and stockpile management.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyse survey data effectively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety and compliance with regulatory requirements.
