About the role
Reporting to the Superintendent Geology Mining, you will be a part of a Mine Geology team that continues to drive towards technical excellence. Key responsibilities will include:
- Demonstrating an overriding commitment to health, safety, environment and the communities within which we operate.
- Coordinating the accurate collection, analysis and interpretation of geological data
- Directing the delivery of best practice ore control and mine geology core routines
- Ensuring the timely and accurate flow of information from the Mine Geology function into all customer groups including Resource Engineering, IPRO Tactical Planning and Production Scheduling, and, execution teams at the Asset
You would be engaged via Chandler Macleod for a minimum period of 12 months with an immediate start, and you will hit the ground running.

To be successful in this role, you will require the following:
You will be an experienced Mining Geologist with high level stakeholder engagement skills and a desire to deliver meaningful and impactful work. You are team oriented and results focused with a demonstrated track record in working with others to achieve results. In addition, we are ideally looking for the following skills and experience:
- An ability to collect, process and interpret geological data in a mine (and Exploration) setting,
- Good mapping skills,
- Strong data analysis and problem solving skills,
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external parties,
- Logistical planning and project management,
- Working knowledge of industry standard mining and geological software and systems including Vulcan, GIS applications and Leapfrog,
- Preferred knowledge of BHP specific software and systems including Blastholes, Reconcilor, I-Site, MQ2, and
- C class manual driver’s license (preferred) | 4WD Course Accredited
- You MUST have valid Australian Working Rights and be able to pass a drug & alcohol screen & pre-employment medical
