The Mint Systems and Quality (MSQ) Operations Officer is primarily responsible for undertaking inspection services for vendor supplied inventory. As the first inspection control point for all components destined for use in Mint products, the MSQ Operations Officer undertakes visual and instrument based inspections, quality control assessments and investigations to ensure products align with the Mint and vendor’s manufactured item specifications.
Working in a small team, the MSQ Operations Officer supports internal audits of quality related processes, ensuring the Mint complies with relevant quality standards. They collect measurement related data and develop a variety of documents and reports. They assist the quality team with continuous improvement activities.
The MSQ Operations Officer uses spatial intelligence, pattern recognition and manual dexterity to operate measuring equipment, conduct inspections of products and undertake calibration and repeatability activities, to ensure product quality and compliance with relevant standards and legislation. They liaise with various internal stakeholders to ensure the Mint achieves its business requirements.
The successful applicant is required to work full-time and on-site.
The duties of this position include:
1. Performing visual and instrument based inspections, including recording and reporting results, as per Mint and vendor manufactured item specifications.
2. Operating measuring equipment to assess part attributes against specifications to ensure consistent supplier performance and legislative compliance.
3. Undertaking and supporting calibration and repeatability activities on gauges and related equipment, ensuring compliance with Mint standards and relevant legislation.
4. Supporting internal audits of quality related processes and systems to ensure compliance with the ISO 9001 accredited quality system.
5. Collecting measurement related data to develop statistical process control charts, inwards goods reports and capability assessments related to Mint manufacturing operations.
6. Supporting and undertaking investigations and Quality control assessments, including gathering data and presenting results based on evidence.
7. Liaising with internal stakeholders regarding test queries and task prioritisation.
8. Maintaining quality related documents, ensuring they adhere with established Mint processes, best practice and Australian Quality Standards.
9. Conducting manual handling tasks using mechanical and manual aids.
Security clearance
This position requires a Baseline security clearance. The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a clearance at this level.
