If you enjoy working outdoors and want to make a difference in the community, a role in our Mitigation Crews could be for you!

• Regional opportunities with attractive incentives including rural and remote allowances and additional leave for specific locations
• Full-time ongoing employment & 35 hours per week

• Mandatory paid 5-week induction program upon commencement (may be required to travel and stay at the training facility over the period)

Note: Some locations attract a rural and remote area allowance, and some locations attract an additional week of western zone leave per year. Please reach out to the relevant role expert to confirm which incentives apply to your preferred locations.  

What you’ll need to join our crews:

­­Mitigation Crew Member entry requirements include:

• A current Driver Licence, Class Provisional P1 or above

The RFS will support you to obtain the following qualifications during the Mitigation Crew Induction Program:

• RFS Bush Firefighter (BF) Qualification
• First Aid Qualification

Mitigation Crew Leader entry requirements include:

• RFS Crew Leader (CLW and/or CLS) Certification or its equivalent, or demonstrated relevant experience
• A current Class Medium Rigid (MR) Driver Licence*
