Full time position based on 38 hour week with appropriate remuneration package plus superannuation and other employee entitlements.
Applicant requirements: Minimum of three years’ relevant experience and related qualification with references and must be currently living in Australia.
A vacancy exists for an Mixed Crop Farmer in vineyard in the Riverland region of South Australia. We are a well-established family company with 4 generations of grape growing and wine making experience additionally we are vertically integrated from wine to glass with our own independent bottling company.
Job Description: we are seeking a Mixed Crop Farmer to join our growing team.
The Mixed Crop Farmer position’s duties are:
- Assisting in developing and maintaining vineyard management systems based on all aspects of vineyard from planting, fertilizing, harvesting and processing crops to achieve maximum usage of the land.
- Identify pathogens both micro-organisms, parasites, fungi, insects, and the like. Under our organic management.
- Advising management on farming techniques, soil moisture monitoring, petiole and fruit sampling, insect trap monitoring, soil samples and special projects as needed throughout the growing season.
- Examining various soil characteristics of farmland to identify most effective use assisting in developing new methods of planting, fertilizing, harvesting, and processing crops to achieve maximum land usage within our sustainable accreditation.
- Vineyard inspections identify pathogens both micro-organisms, parasites, fungi, insects, and the like.
Position Requirements: can work independently, flexibility to work an occasional weekend, as needed and good communication and staff management skills.
