Job description

Monitoring Centre Operator

SECOM Australia Pty Ltd (ML 404791187) is a wholly owned subsidiary of the SECOM Corporation (Japan) established in 1992 to provide high-level integrated Commercial, Government and Residential security solutions throughout Australia.

We have an extensive security service presence throughout Australia dedicated to Alarm Monitoring, Protective Services, Patrols and Alarm Responses along with Technical Services through our group companies.  We pride ourselves in delivering high-level integrated security solutions throughout Australia.

The Monitoring Centre is operational 24/7 so the successful applicant must be available to work 12-hour shifts during the day, night and weekends. The location is at 4 minutes’ walk from the train station and other public transport.

You will be required to interpret signals from alarms transmitted to the centre and carry out appropriate action within a defined range of responses determined by the client's needs. In addition to this you will produce reports, raise service requests/incident reports and assist in general administration.

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 1E Monitoring Centre Licence required. 
  • Monitoring centre experience preferred however not essential.
  • Exceptional customer service skills 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to solve problems and negotiate difficult customer interactions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment either supervised or unsupervised.
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Intermediate level of computer skills is essential.

Benefits:           You will work alongside an experienced team of operators servicing our customers across Australia. The successful candidate will be provided with a uniform, a wage in accordance with the Security Industry Award level 4 that is currently $26.87 plus shift penalties for Night span Monday to Friday, Saturday, Sunday and Public Holidays.

  • Experience working in a Call Centre or Customer Service role.
  • Strong Active-listening and verbal communication skills
  • High attention to detail and proficiency in problem-solving
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively.
  • Works well in a team environment
  • Tech Savvy – Able to pick up new systems.
