YOUR ROLE

We have a number of exciting permanent opportunities for Motor Assessors to join our IIA (Intermediated Insurance Australia) Supply Chain team in southern regional NSW/Canberra.

The IIA business is made up of key brands such as, CGU, Lumley and WFI. Your key focus will be to assess commercial motor vehicle damage using your trade experience to ensure that motor vehicle repairs are conducted in an appropriate manner, and the repair costs are fair and reasonable.

You will also be responsible for delivering exceptional customer service to both internal and external stakeholders across IAG brands and achieving commercial motor vehicle assessment outcomes through the use of national frameworks and approved motor supply chain models.

As a Motor Assessor, you'll be responsible for assessing and adjusting claims for vehicles. You'll manage your own case load from start to finish, assessing the damage, quantifying loss, initiating repairs and replacement, and working with customers on negotiating settlements for referred claims whilst providing an exceptional level of customer care.

Relationship building with IIA key broker partners is critical along with having knowledge of agricultural farm machinery, caravan, motorcycle, and pleasure craft claims is desirable although not mandatory.

Comprehensive training will be provided for external applicants. Please note this will include an initial 6 weeks on-site training with 6 months additional training supported by the Technical Workplace Coach.

Once the above induction has been completed, the role will move to a hybrid working model with a mixture of on-road and desktop/digital assessments.

ABOUT YOU

  • Tertiary qualification/s in Motor Repair Trades (spray painting, mechanic or panel beating) - PLEASE ATTACH THIS WITH YOUR APPLICATION.
  • Understanding of not just passenger vehicles but also Caravan, motorcycle, pleasure craft, heavy machinery, agricultural farm machinery, farm vehicles and commercially modified vehicles such as ambulances
  • Desire to work collaboratively to reach a mutually beneficial insurance solutions
  • Experience working with a wide range of stakeholders including brokers and business partners
  • Decision making and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in Insurance Motor Vehicle Loss Assessing and Claims (highly desirable)
  • Relevant industry or specialist qualifications such as ANZIIF (highly desirable)
