Perform a range of engine & mechanical tests, to diagnose, repair and service as detailed per product warranty guidelines, company policy or Service Managers instruction.
Position Requirements
To fulfill this position, applicants must have more than 3 years practical experience in a workshop environment servicing motor vehicles and a Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent.
Key job functions & Accountabilities
A Technician carries out a range of duties relating to the service of vehicles, including:
- Providing expert advice in relation to current mechanical condition of vehicles
- Taking all necessary steps to diagnose to ensure the correct operation of vehicles sold under dealer warranty including the dismantling and reconstruction or replacement of faulty components
- Repairing the mechanical parts of the motor vehicle such as the engine, transmission and the suspension systems
- Reporting all necessary work, service or repairs to service manager and record using in-house databases or reporting systems
- Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of all mechanical issues and changes relating to dealer product range
- Maintaining a safe working environment through ensuring the correct operation of all tools and specialised equipment
- Providing high level customer service to the dealership's customers
- Comply with Echuca Mazda & Mitsubishi uniform policy
- Clock on and off time cards
- Respect and adhere to all company policies and procedures
- Respect and support other staff members
- Respect and adhere to company OH&S Policies
- Adhere to company workshop Policies and Procedures
- Work as a team ensure cleanliness of the workshop at all time.
Work commences @ 8.30am sharp, with a 15 minute morning tea break, ½ hour lunch break and a 15 minute afternoon tea break. Work concludes at 4.36pm unless there is authorised over time to be done as advised by the workshop controller or service manager.
Requirements:
- Certificate III including at least two years of on-the-job training, or Certificate IV in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent
