These positions are based in the EPA’sMount Gambier office.

About the AvailableRolesDo you havean interest in the environment and want to be part of a team whohelps ensure a sustainable future for all? The EPA has multiplepositions available in our Mount Gambier (South East)office.

The positions available will bepart of a small compliance team where you will contribute to theeffective administration of authorisations under theEnvironment Protection Act 1993. Duties will includeproviding assistance, guidance and high-quality advice to a widerange of internal and external stakeholders, particularly EPAlicence holders, in relation to their environmentalobligations.

The roles will undertakea wide range of environmental assessment and/or compliance matterswith professional direction. The roles also include conductingregular inspections of licensed sites to assess compliance acrossthe South East, Murraylands and Riverland. You will also contributeto the general administration of the South East office, includingensuring various statutory obligations and EPA requirements aremet.

The roles require good skills in communication, time management,prioritising and an ability to follow guidance andinstructions.

protect, restore and improve the environment through the risk-based regulation of pollution, waste, noise and radiation. The EPA works

closely with industry, the community and government to protect the unique natural environment while supporting economic growth and improving wellbeing.

The EPA is responsible for the administration of the Environment Protection Act 1993 (EP Act) and the Radiation Protection and Control Act 2021 (RPC Act)

and also exercises responsibilities under other South Australian planning and environmental legislation.

EssentialQualificationsThere are a range of positions availablefor applicants depending on their qualifications and experience.Please see below the two classification streams and whatqualifications are required to be considered in each stream.

ASO: No essentialqualification required.PO: A degree in science, applied science, engineering,environmental management or equivalent.

Remuneration
ASO3 to ASO5 ($66,590 - $94,003 perannum) + 11% super to your choice of superfund.PO1 to PO3 ($67,466 - $105,495 per annum) + 11% super to yourchoice of superfund.

ContractsAvailable
Long term contracts (until October2025). Full time or part time contracts will be offered dependingon what is available at the time.

Special Conditions

  • Location: Mount Gambier SA (5290).
  • Must be eligible to work in Australia.
  • Some intrastate travel, including absence overnight, will be

required.

  • Out of hours work may be required as the need arises.
  • A current driver’s licence is essential.
  • Successful applicant will be required to satisfactorily complete

a National Police Check (NPC) prior to being made an offer of employment.
