We are seeking a Multi Skilled Operator to join our Civil Maintenance Group within our Customer Delivery Division

The Opportunity
As the Multi Skilled Operator you will be responsible for operating an excavator/truck combination unit and working with a crew leader to achieve quality outcomes in a timely manner. The role will also include operating sewer jetting equipment, general labouring and working independently.
What you'll do:
- Participate in a 1 in 5 standby roster; participants on the roster must be able to attend callouts within 1 hour in order for Hunter Water to meet operational response times. This will typically involve living within Hunter Water's area of operation and within thirty minutes of a nominated depot location.
- Ensuring safe excavation practices by complying with work instructions and safety requirements
- Ensure the safety and compliance of heavy vehicles and machinery by regular inspections and completing
- Heavy Vehicle Inspection/ Start up Report.
- Adhere to WHS regulations and take all precautions necessary for the safety of HWC personnel and property, private property and the public
What you'll need to be successful:
Essential Criteria:
- Demonstrated excavator competency and experience
- Experience in watermain and sewer main repairs, jetting procedures, valve installations, plant and truck operations, water service repairs or similar.
- Demonstrated experience in reading and interpreting water and sewer plans or similar
- Knowledge of water and wastewater infrastructure
- Ability to recognise environmental impacts of field work and implement appropriate controls to mitigate environmental risk
- Proven capacity to work manually for an extended period including activities such as hand digging, lifting etc.
- Proven ability to work effectively within small teams
- High level of personal work ethic and commitment to safe working practices
