Seven West Media's photography department is seeking a highly motivated Multimedia Technician who is passionate about photography and news gathering. As a Multimedia Technician, you will play a crucial role in our small but important department, contributing to the daily news-gathering process. This unique opportunity offers exposure to a fast-paced newsroom environment, where your skills and passion for multimedia will be honed and expanded. Specific training will be provided after employment to ensure you reach an independent working level.

About the role

  • Capture compelling and impactful images to accompany news stories of the day;
  • Utilize various multimedia tools and equipment to ensure high-quality visual content;
  • Ensure compliance with copyright standards and secure necessary permissions for media usage;
  • Coordinate with various sources to gather essential news material daily;
  • Work efficiently and effectively to meet constant deadlines;
  • Collaborate with the team to prioritise tasks and ensure timely delivery of multimedia content.

About you

  • Excellent knowledge of current affairs including news, celebrity, sport;
  • Be able to work flexible work hours including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays;
  • Have a curious mind;
  • Work well in both a team environment and independently;
  • Show proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Premier as well as the Microsoft Office suite;
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a high attention to detail;
  • Excellent communication and a high level of professionalism at all times.
