The roles we have available are as follows:

Role one:

This position is a initial contract opportunity running through to mid August with a potential extension. 1-2 days a week hybrid opportunity.

  • Respond to customer queries and requests for updates regarding tree management.
  • Handle interactions with emotional or upset individuals via phone and email with empathy and professionalism.
  • Communicate and coordinate with contractors to ensure timely and effective tree management services.
  • Collaborate with team members to facilitate smooth operations and resolve any issues promptly.
  • Enter and review data related to tree management activities, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain and update relevant databases and records as required.
  • Draft and send correspondence, including letters and emails.
  • Prepare meeting agendas and take minutes during meetings.
  • Process invoices and ensure timely payments in accordance with Council procedures.
  • Perform other general administrative duties as needed to support the tree management team.
  • Assist in organising and coordinating meetings, training sessions, and other events related to tree management.

Key selection criteria:

  • Experience providing excellent administration support, ideally within Government sector. 
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to handle various interactions with empathy and professionalism.

    Role two:

    This position is a initial contract opportunity running through to end of August with a potential extension.

    The Permits Officer supports the Asset Protection and Permits team by responding to service requests related to Local Laws and relevant Acts and Regulations, exercising personal judgment within agreed standards. This role involves professional interaction with internal employees and external stakeholders, including the community, residents, Councilors, public authorities, and the building industry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect relevant information and maintain the database for Asset Protection and Permits.
  • Process applications, contribute to team reporting, register security bonds, results of investigations, recommendations, and legal notices.
  • Handle FOI requests and assist with the distribution of caseload.
  • Evaluate traffic management plans, identify additional permit requirements, and make referrals to other departments when necessary.
  • Input data into corporate financial and information systems.
  • Assist with the documentation of processes and procedures.
  • Maintain and update various registers, the website, and databases.
  • Contribute to process improvement and identify areas for further development.
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives and perform other duties as requested.

Key selection criteria:

  • Experience providing excellent administration support, ideally within Government or legal sector
