Derwent Valley Council is responsible for a broad range of infrastructure and community services that support the wellbeing and prosperity of our diverse community. We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of MUNICIPAL WORKER
This position is responsible for performing a variety of routine tasks associated with providing the residents of the Derwent Valley with a comprehensive and well-maintained infrastructure, including roads, bridges, parks, reserves and buildings.
To be successful, you will have:
Essential
Physically able to undertake a variety of strenuous labouring tasks.
Demonstrated ability to safely operate small plants and equipment.
Experience within maintenance or parks and gardens units.
Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and communicate effectively to resolve minor matters.
Be accountable for decisions, behaviour, actions and deliverables.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety practices relevant to the role.
Desirable
Experience working within a Local Government environment.
