Job description

Are you interested in working with a passionate community, enjoying good local produce and telling the story of one of Australia’s most liveable regions?  You might like to apply for this exciting role in Tasmania’s Derwent Valley. The Derwent Valley is a stunning diverse location just 30 minutes from Hobart and includes New Norfolk and surrounds through to spectacular world heritage wilderness areas. 

We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic individual to fill the position of  Advanced Municipal Worker.

This position is responsible for performing a variety of routine tasks associated with providing the residents of the Derwent Valley with a comprehensive and well-maintained infrastructure including roads, bridges, stormwater, parks, reserves and buildings.

To be successful, you will have: 

  1. Current Heavy Rigid (HR) Licence. 
  2. Worked within the Road construction / Maintenance industry. 
  3. Physically able to undertake a variety of strenuous labouring tasks.
  4. Demonstrated ability to safely operate small plant and equipment.
  5. Trade Qualification/Certification in the relevant fields. 
  6. Demonstrated ability to work as a member of a team and communicate effectively to resolve minor matters.
  7. Be accountable for decisions, behaviour, actions and deliverables.
  8. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety practices relevant to the role.
