THE ROLE
Established in 2009, The SoundLab is located at No. 1 Chapel St. Saint Kilda under the iconic Astor Theatre. We are currently seeking a dedicated sales person with a passion for music, to assist in the running of our School and boutique musical instrument retail Store.
A successful candidate will work in our Store, assist with our sales/marketing and handle the scheduling of the lessons for our School. The position is ideally, 3-4 days a week during the week plus a Saturday.
This is a varied role, a passion for music and education is essential. You need to have exceptional attention to detail, be great with people and able to interact professionally with beginners & musicians of all levels.
To be a successful applicant, you must:
- Be sales driven, following leads with a focus on nurturing & retaining students and also generating retail sales.
- Have experience scheduling, efficiently and accurately. Have the ability to learn our scheduling platform and easily problem solve student movements in the schedule.
- Have experience in a retail environment, preferably in music or a comparable industry; experience with Shopify is preferable.
- Proficiency in content creation and ways to generate sales would also be ideal.
- Have excellent communication skills, with a drive for providing outstanding customer service.
- Be able to take initiative, have good with time management and be able to work with minimal supervision. Be tidy and have experience with visual merchandising.
- Have a love for music, holding a good understanding of having learnt to play an instrument.
