About the role:
Evolve Scientific Recruitment is seeking a
National Chemistry Manager,
to lead and direct the management teams across the core chemistry laboratories across Australia.
As an executive level role, you will report directly to the Managing Director and have key interactions with all senior management.
Travel and flexibility will be required.
This role guides all aspects of quality, sample turnaround compliance, along with the overall operational effectiveness of the labs.
This role would be ideal for a senior level, Laboratory Manager, with a breadth of experience across all aspects of chemistry, looking for the opportunity to break into one of Australia’s leading, contract testing companies.
This is a hands-on role, where you will be involved in the multiple laboratories on a daily basis and gain a deep understanding of the team.
Management of chemistry laboratories to achieve a high level of competence in the analytical market within budgetary targets. Ensure maintenance of the laboratory quality system to meet the requirements of clients, as well as NATA / AQIS etc. Provide workflow management for the overall operation of the Chemistry Laboratories to ensure workflow and tasks are completed as directed and planned. Report on key metrics to senior management, track performance and identify issues or improvements. Ensure the continuous improvement of all chemistry laboratories and systems to ensure they maintain functionality and efficiency as operations expand.
Skills & experience: Tertiary qualification in science, chemistry or related At least ten years’ experience managing chemistry analytical laboratories. Prior LIMS experience Excellent organisational and delegation skills are essential along with an ability to prioritise. Experience in leading, managing and mentoring a team and tracking performance of staff Excellent organisational, interpersonal, communication and presentation skills.
