 About HeartKids

HeartKids is the only national not-for-profit organisation solely focused on supporting and advocating for all people impacted by childhood onset heart disease (CoHD), one of the largest causes of infant death in Australia and the leading cause for babies under one year. 

We seek to give every child, teenager, and adult in Australia with congenital or childhood acquired heart disease a fighting chance to live a long, healthy, and fulfilling life.

About the role

The National Corporate Partnerships Officer is responsible for the delivery of the National Sponsorship and Strategic Partnerships Program. The program’s two key aims are to drive new revenue growth and to retain and improve existing agreements. The program is supported by compelling presentation tools including Case for Support, Impact Reporting, and tailored proposals to facilitate and support key introductions and a detailed retention reporting framework to enhance retention. The role includes building key industry relationships and establishing new partnerships to realise financial targets and to build HeartKids reputation as a charity of choice.

The success of the National Sponsorship and Partnerships program is achieved through: 


Acquisition and Program Management
• Identify and develop a new prospect pipeline for Corporate and Strategic Partnership fundraising opportunities to obtain multi-year and increased financial support and engagement from corporations, public and private organisations, community groups, and key individuals in line with the organisation’s strategic objectives; 
• Cultivate relationships with existing corporate partners to secure increased future funding that can be leveraged both locally and nationally; 
• Manage the contract process and ensure all compliance processes are met;
• Identify the tied and untied funding needs of the organisation to guide the development of proposals;
• Make direct face-to-face solicitations and engage partners and stakeholders to make referrals; 
• Liaise with Marketing and other teams to provide all contracted deliverables, including brand benefits and impact reporting; 

• Develop segmentation plan and client personas for review;

• Observe all legal and legislative requirements and comply with HeartKids policies and procedures; 
• Develop and articulate strategic approaches for further expansion; and  
• Ensure all end of contract reporting requirements are met. 

Administration 
• Update monthly program reports monitoring income and expenses against budget;
• Report monthly on existing, expiring, renewing and new corporate funding agreements, and provide analysis of unsuccessful applications to support future growth; 
• Provide monthly income and forecast reports; 
• Ensure HeartKids Salesforce CRM database is kept up to date with accurate partner information at all times; and
• Process invoices in a timely manner 

Personal Attributes and Team Contribution  
• Positive attitude and ability to confidently manage effective external and internal relationships with a wide range of stakeholders; 
• Willingness to work cooperatively and collaboratively across the organisation and within a team; 
• Be willing to travel insterstate, as needed;
• Openness to change and the flexibility to accommodate changing requirements; 
• Willingness to be a team player by being collaborative and approachable; and

• Perform other duties and manage other projects as requested during peak periods.

Essential Qualifications 
• More than 5 years’ experience in a fundraising, sales or development role in a not-for-profit, social impact, or community services organisation; 

• Ability to prospect and close sales in excess of $250,000 per annum;
• Demonstrated ability to personally acquire and retain new Corporate Partnerships or major partnerships; 
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
• Demonstrated ability to innovate and think outside the box; 
• Proven ability to build strong relationships, with a strong track record of achieving targets within set timeframes; 
• Awareness of the importance of data integrity and accuracy and experience working with a range of systems; 
• Maintaining confidentiality of donor details and HeartKids records; 
• Committed to prompt, high quality customer service and quality engagement; 
• Strong conceptual, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to multi-task and work independently; and 
• Highly organised, reliable, efficient and detail orientated.

This role can be based in either North Parramatta NSW, or Melbourne VIC.
