It is an exciting time for tennis in Australia and we have ambitious plans to continue to grow the game from grassroots through to high performance. To help achieve our goals, we have transformed how we deliver tennis, with offering more opportunities for more players and a greater role for personal coaches in identifying and developing our future talent. We are now looking for a National Development Squad (NDS) Physical Performance Coach to join the South Australia team on a Part Time basis.
In this role you will:
This role you will be responsible for the assessment, implementation and continuous monitoring of individualised strength and conditioning programs for assigned athletes.
- Develop and implement appropriate training programs for NDS athletes
- Implement physical profiling strategies to identify key physical/athletic developmental priorities
- Minimise the risk and severity of potential injuries through appropriate training design and monitoring of session workload
- Undertake physical testing of athletes and archive results as requested by the Lead Physical Performance Coach
- Coordinate relevant ancillary sport science support
What you will bring to this role:
- Tertiary qualifications in Sport Science, Human Movement and/or equivalent degree (essential)
- Level 1 Strength & Conditioning Coaching Accreditation or willingness and ability to acquire (essential)
- Technical strength and conditioning knowledge across sport, preferably tennis
- Demonstrated ability to elicit improvements in the strength and conditioning variables of individual athletes and groups of athletes
- Flexibility regarding work schedules and training hours
- Alignment with the Tennis values of Excellence, Humility, Collaboration and Imagination
- You must hold (or be willing to obtain) a current Police Check and Working with Children Check
