Join Our Team as a Support Coordinator!
Delegate Support Services is excited to expand our dedicated team with a new Support Coordinator role under the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS). This position is essential in guiding and empowering individuals with disabilities, ensuring they receive the full range of supports available to them.
About the Role: As a Support Coordinator, you will be the cornerstone of our client support system, helping participants navigate and maximise their NDIS plans. Your role will involve building strong, collaborative relationships, facilitating access to necessary services, and advocating for the rights and needs of our clients.
Qualifications, Experience, and Skills:
Qualifications:
- Diploma in Community Services or Social Work/Services (or willingness to gain these qualifications).
- A diploma or degree in social work, disability studies, human services, or a related field is preferred (or currently enrolled).
Experience:
- Experience in disability advocacy, social services, or a related field (can include lived experience).
Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage effectively with individuals, families, and stakeholders from diverse backgrounds.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities with a client-centered approach.
- Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Proficiency in using relevant computer applications and databases for documentation and reporting.
- High level of energy, motivation, and a positive attitude towards challenges.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including being non-judgmental, fair, patient, empathetic, and valuing diversity.
- High administrative skills and a strong customer focus.
- Ability to work both proactively in an autonomous manner and as part of a team.
- Critical thinking skills and an optimistic outlook on challenges.
- Strong time management skills and the ability to maintain focus.
- Building and maintaining relationships with clients and their families.
