Located in Berrimah, Darwin - Northern Territory This position is Full Time - Monday to Friday NDT (Non-Destructive Testing) Technician

The Opportunity
To support our continued growth, we are searching for an NDT Technician to join our team in the Darwin Office, on a fulltime basis. This position will report to our COO.
Summary: This opportunity offers the successful applicant a chance to acquire technical expertise while working on and contiburting to multiple projects. It includes mentoring trainees, providing ongoing support, and actively participating in the daily operations of NDT Testing, all within a well-equipped training environment guided by experienced trainers.
Key Responsibilities:
• Peroform NDT while working within the Companies QHSE Management System and assist in continuous improvement. Work within the Company’s and Government Statutory Safety Systems / Requirements. 
• Liaison directly with clients on requirements. Where required, make suggestions or develop methods for clients in both standard and advanced NDT methods on metals.
• Ensure that NDT equipment is calibrated and in a serviceable condition before use and when stored. Prepare work worksheets and reports for tests that they are certified or proficient.
• Perform other duties that are within their ability and knowledge.
• Responsible for ensuring that due care is exercised at all times in the handling of test items to prevent mechanical damage, corrosion, misuse, abuse, deterioration, inadvertent mixing or loss of items. Responsible for highlighting to management whenever the condition of test items is considered likely to affect the test results.

• Responsible for identifying non-conformances and suggesting improvement opportunities and for suggesting preventive actions when they identify a potential nonconformance.
• Responsible for confirming that only current versions of quality system documents are used on the job and for identifying and suggesting needed changes as appropriate.
• Participate in all Pre-start meetings and provide constructive feedback for the continuous improvement of the organisation
• Work in a safe manner so as not to harm themselves or others.
Experience and Additional requirements:
• Must be capable of recording, analysing and reporting results in NDT methods. 
• Have at least 2 to 3 years NDT experience.
• Determine the properties of metals and alloys post and pre-processing.
• Perform tests according to written procedures under the correct code of standards.
• Previous experience working on oil and gas, coal power stations, Nuclear power station, Mines, Metal refineries and oilrigs is considered highly desirable.

• Must be able to pass inductions and other site requirements.
• Must be able to pass a technical assessment in methods held in accordance with standards and level achieved.
• Excellent communication skills and a team Leader
• Exceptional attention to detail when processing raw data and preparing reports.
• Must be willing to assist and support other technicians outside of your scope to gain experience in other methods as well as assist where necessary on site/projects.
• Understanding of WH&S requirements and responsibilities
• A reasonable level of health and fitness
• A current Driver's License
• Ability to effectively manage and prioritise multiple objectives with deadlines.
• Highly adaptable, ability to work within a fast-paced and ever-changing environment, excellent time management skills required.
• A willingness to learn and a positive attitude toward continual change
• Reliable and punctual
• Additional safety certifications will be considered favourably, e.g. Working at Heights, Confined Space, EWP
