About The Opportunity
As a Network Engineer, you will play a crucial role in maintaining Council’s network infrastructure, ensuring uninterrupted connectivity across multiple sites. Your role includes monitoring and troubleshooting network performance, collaborating with the IT team to resolve incidents, coordinating with service providers, and actively participating in projects for infrastructure enhancement. As a key player, you'll contribute to securing our IT systems, generating comprehensive documentation, and ensuring the seamless operation of our network.
About You
- Tertiary qualifications in Information Systems or a related field, or significant proven experience as an IT Network Engineer or similar role, preferably supporting a regional council.
- In-depth knowledge of Active Directory, Azure AD and networking technology including TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, VPNs, etc.
- Demonstrated experience with network security and related hardware such as firewalls.
- Demonstrated experience with configuring and managing network hardware from multiple vendors.
- Demonstrated experience with a wide variety of connectivity methods such as Fibre, Satellite, NBN and point to point links.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Available to partake in rostered out-of-hours support when required.
- Continuous learning mindset, keeping up to date with current technologies and best practices.
- Unrestricted Class C Drivers Licence
