Job Title: Network Infrastructure Engineer

About Our Client: Our client is a leading organization based in Perth WA. With a strong focus on innovation and technological excellence, they are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer to join their dynamic team.
Position Overview: As a Network Infrastructure Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and maintaining our client's robust network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will have expertise in Fortigate, Cisco CCNA or higher certifications, and Palo Alto certifications, along with a minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience in network engineering.

  • Network Design and Planning:
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to understand business requirements and design network solutions that align with organizational goals.
  • Create detailed network architecture plans, considering scalability, redundancy, and security.
  • Implementation and Configuration:
  • Deploy and configure network hardware and software components, including routers, switches, firewalls (such as Fortigate and Palo Alto devices), and other networking equipment.
  • Implement and manage network protocols, such as TCP/IP, VLANs, OSPF, BGP, and others.
  • Security Management:
  • Set up and manage security measures to protect the network from unauthorized access, data breaches, and cyber threats.
  • Monitor and analyze security logs, implement security policies, and conduct regular security audits.
  • Troubleshooting and Issue Resolution:
  • Identify and resolve network-related issues promptly to ensure minimal downtime.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for recurring problems and implement preventive measures.
  • Performance Monitoring and Optimization:
  • Monitor network performance and analyze data traffic to identify bottlenecks or areas for improvement.
  • Implement optimizations to enhance network speed, reliability, and efficiency.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including system administrators, developers, and IT support staff, to ensure seamless integration of network solutions.
  • Communicate technical information effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Documentation:
  • Maintain detailed documentation of network configurations, changes, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Keep network diagrams, inventory lists, and other documentation up-to-date.
  • Upgrades and Patch Management:
  • Plan and execute network upgrades, including hardware and software updates.
  • Manage patch deployment to address vulnerabilities and ensure network security.
  • Capacity Planning:
  • Evaluate current network capacity and plan for future growth.
  • Recommend and implement upgrades to accommodate increased data traffic and user demands.
  • Training and Knowledge Sharing:
  • Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices.
  • Share knowledge with team members and contribute to the continuous improvement of the IT department.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering roles.
  • Certified in Cisco CCNA or higher.
  • Certified in Fortigate and Palo Alto technologies.
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing complex network solutions.
  • In-depth knowledge of routing, switching, VPN, and firewall technologies.
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to analyze and resolve network-related issues.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
