This opportunity
For this role, the prime accountability is to develop network solutions for internal stakeholders. Work through business requirements and help deliver connectivity solutions. Be familiar with technologies such as DC routing & switching, F5 LTM, GTM, firewalls, DNS & proxies. You will help design, implement, monitor & manage nominated platforms / systems in relation to operations (L3), hands on changes, lifecycle, capacity, performance, and risk management.
You will enable and support Architecture and Delivery teams in the planning, design, and execution of relevant solutions & business project outcomes. You will ensure a close working relationship with the other engineering domains, the broader Technology organisation, and the relevant vendors.
Responsibilities

  • Within the Network Services Platform & Design Team you will work with relevant architectural and project teams towards domain impacting solutions and projects,
  • Review and align that solutions & design standard are followed, highlight potential deviations that may impact capacity, performance, lifecycle, security objectives.
  • Work with external vendors to align end-to-end design & capabilities.
  • Assist in design workshops, solutions & information gathering to help deliver network solutions.
  • Support project teams through design approval, testing and acceptance.
  • Contribute to the system architectural and capability evolution.
  • Engage with relevant vendors including the managed services vendors to ensure acceptable capacity lifecycle and performance management of systems and network interfaces.
  • Help with the implementation of network design/solutions and provide handover & knowledge transfer to operations.
  • Participate in weekly change meetings/forums to assess changes and impacts.
  • Participate in weekly design meetings/forums to review detail designs.

  • Be familiar with policies and procedures, as well as completing any associated training, as communicated or made available on the intranet and our learning systems.
Knowledge and experience
  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in network security or related field
  • Good understanding of security architecture and environments
  • Experience in industries including Telco and Banking, would be highly desirable
  • Technically proficient within the relevant technology domain, familiarity with multiple technology domains
  • Fortinet, Cisco, F5, Routing and Security experience
