Lead Network Engineer - Networks and Systems
Package: $145k + Super + Car allowance + Bonus

Our client is a leading IT Service Provider delivering best-in-breed solutions that are proven and trusted.  Their solutions & services span the entire uptime, availability, and recovery continuum, and extend to turnkey solutions for large infrastructure projects and cyber security.

As an intricate part in this dynamic team, you will be working on some exciting, full-scale redevelopment projects across Australia, designing and implementing networks and server side infrastructures in exciting environments such as stadiums, sports arenas, and hotels.

The ideal candidate will be punctual, professional, and able to clearly communicate with various levels of staff and clients to successfully manage and solve problems at a level 2 & 3 standard.

To be considered for the role you will have 10+ years’ experience in a similar role and be able to competently carry out the following in an independent and autonomous manner, whilst also aiding and providing guidance to your team members.

Key Accountabilities

  • Lead the Network Engineering team
  • Provide Mentorship to less experience Network Engineers
  • Provide Network Design solutions to clients 
  • Provide technical support and administration to a broad network of clients.
  • Collect, analyse, and verify information to configure and/or integrate new hardware and software upgrades in an existing network
  • Administer critical systems and functions including, but not limited to, Linux, Wintel Windows Server, Active Directory VMWare vSphere, Office365, CommVault, MS Exchange.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives
  • Respond to and resolve technical incidents and problems within service level timeframes
  • Maintain a high standard of support and administration documentation for technical services.
  • Participate in projects where required
  • Liaise with vendors for repairs, maintenance, and support as needed
  • Participate in out of hours activities as required

Required Technical Skills: (the following are absolutely necessary)
  • In-depth experience with Cisco Meraki (or similar technology)
  • Fortigate firewalls (or similar technology)
  • HP Switches (or similar technology)
  • Linux
  • LAN and Cloud networking experience

  • Experience administering enterprise Windows environments (Windows Server, Active Directory, VMWare vSphere, Office 365, CommVault, MS Exchange and SQL)
  • Experience providing face-to-face support and working in a corporate environment.
  • Strong documentation and administration skills
  • Powershell/administrative script experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Leadership and mentoring qualities
  • Valid driving license and access to your own vehicle
