We are looking for a Networks Platform Lead to lead the internal network and communications platform team who oversee design, setup and operation of Rio Tinto’s network and communication solutions (WAN, LAN and SDWAN as a future capability) to sites, offices and other platform teams.
This is a great opportunity for a proven leader with enterprise organisation experience to lead & support one of Rio Tinto’s key internal IS&T functions.

Reporting to the Head of Technology Platforms and working in a collaborative community within the Technology Platforms division, you will:
- Define and manage the Networks Platform Strategy, Architecture & Roadmap in collaboration with IS&T Strategy and Enterprise Architecture
- Operate, support and continuously improve Rio Tinto’s global network - be that directly or managing a vendor to do so
- Champion and enable DevOps delivery practices across IS&T
- Build and deliver engineering capability across platforms
- Ensure Rio Tinto networks are safe, stable and secure and the services delivered meet the service level expectations of the business
- A commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- Strong leadership skills with demonstrated experience leading and managing a highly performing team, providing vision, direction, and regular communication to all team members
- Experience driving digital transformation and business growth and development through innovation and implementation of technology
- Exceptional presentation, interpersonal, and stakeholder engagement skills with demonstrated ability to communicate in both technical and business language to a diverse range of stakeholders & senior leaders
- Strong ability to influence at a senior level and at all levels of the organisation
- Good standing of the mining value change
- DevOps experience
- Agile methodology experience would be highly advantageous

Where you’ll be working
