The Role:
The Northern Health Neurology Service is a dynamic, busy and rapidly growing department, dedicated to providing top quality clinical care within a friendly and supportive clinical team.
We have recently undergone a major expansion in our staff and facilities, including the opening of our state of the art Neurology and Stroke ward in May 2021. This enables long term EEG monitoring to be provided to Northern Health inpatients for the first time, with 2 dedicated inpatient EEG monitoring beds.
Our team currently also includes one full time EEG scientist, 11 Neurology consultants, two Neurology registrars in core training, and a further registrar (core trainee in general medicine), in addition to our 2 residents and 2 Stroke Nurse Practitioners.
We are committed to providing first class neurological care for our patients and an excellent, supportive learning environment for all our staff. We are also committed to clinical research in Neurology.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor of Science/Applied Science or equivalent
- Experience and proficiency in, or willingness and aptitude to learn all forms of EEG
- Computing skills with proficiency in basic MS Office suite
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interaction with colleagues and clients
- Ability to work within a dynamic team environment as well as independently
- Willingness to participate in on-call duties if required
- Current National Police and Working with Children History Check
