We have an exciting opportunity for a New Product Development (NPD) Project Manager. Reporting to the Head of NPD Projects and Packaging you will be responsible for the planning and development of all new evo products and reformulations. The NPD Project Manager champions excellence in project management and collaboration, whilst being responsible for maintaining fiscal accuracy on their projects – forecasting, managing timelines and tracking project vs. overall budgets.
This is a busy role, where no two days are the same! Your strong project management skills will see you collaborate across departments to orchestra the development phase (brief to manufacturers/suppliers, production, formula development and testing, packaging creation, quantities, cost estimations, compliance) and ensuring the time to market by managing the full process timelines across the departments.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Manage the New Product plans for each key market, through all channels
- Project manage New Product Development timelines and work with each department to ensure tasks and milestones are completed on time and in budget; while sharing the risks and challenges to head of brand, directors and production.
- Coordinate regular project meetings to review project timelines with key internal stakeholders, set go-to-market-plans and ensure on track
- Competitor and market research (qualitative/quantitative) to support Product Development and manufacturer briefs
- Plan and maintain the testing calendar and ensure the external testing team and internal lab technician attend r&d testing days accordingly and ensure they work efficiently on development samples following procedures and processes to standards
- Work closely with manufacturers, provide briefs, manage timelines, set up new vendors and meet regularly to discuss project progress, issues and milestones
- Work with Compliance Manager to ensure standards are met for formulation and packaging artwork requirements
- Proven end to end (concept – execution) NPD Project Management experience, ideally with wet products
- Creative thinker with the ability to offer solutions to problems and provide recommendations based off available data
- Demonstrated Project Management skills - organization, prioritization and time management
- Strong stakeholder management experience, with a collaborative mindset to support the success of all global markets and projects
- Good understanding of the market, the clients and the final consumer
- Ability to work independently and on self-driven projects
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills
- Demonstrated Microsoft Office and smart sheet skills
- Ability to follow and work within established guidelines and procedures
- Ability to work with a high degree of accuracy
- Minimum 5 years’ experience within a similar role with experience in a corporate/business environment or or degree qualified – planning, chemistry, science, engineering or business equivalent.
- Experience in related field (hair/beauty, FMCG environment) is desirable but not mandatory
- Exposure to / understanding of chemistry / ingredients is desirable, but not mandatory.
