As the only national Private Hospital operator and healthcare provider in Australia, our 38 sites offer a range of acute, medical, surgical, mental health and rehabilitation services to the communities we care for.
When you're working in the private healthcare sector, you'll get more hands-on experience, in a supported way, of course! Our nurses and midwives are often the key point of communication directly between our patient and doctors.
In addition, our private healthcare nurses and midwives find they can accelerate their careers as there are more opportunities available and a greater ability for specialisation.
Given we deal with more predictable patient admissions in the private sector, it also means you'll get more flexibility in when you work. Our leaders work hard to develop rosters that suit our people and the career and life stage they are in.
With full time or part time options available (minimum 30 hours/week), our 12-month program is coupled with an additional Consolidation Year to further support your transition to practice and develop your clinical skills and knowledge.

Newcastle Private Hospital, where doing what you love means more.
Newcastle Private Hospital is a 189 bed, acute, Private Hospital facility co-located on the John Hunter Campus at Rankin Park. The hospital has 11 theatres including a hybrid theatre and a 15 bed Intensive Care Unit. It also has a cardiac suite including a cardiac catheter laboratory and a 16 bed Coronary Care Unit. A private maternity suite including 6 birthing suites and a special care baby nursery is available for families in the Newcastle region.
We are also an integrated, multidisciplinary cancer service, offering chemotherapy and immunotherapies for both inpatients and outpatients in our 9-chair infusion centre and dedicated 10 bed oncology ward.

Eligibility criteria for our 2025 Graduate Program includes:
· Australian working rights
· Completion of a relevant nursing or midwifery course within the last 6 months OR anticipated completion at least one month prior to commencing with us
· Willingness to commit to a minimum of 30 hours/week, a rotating roster including AM, PM, night, weekend and public holiday shifts
