The Melbourne newsroom is looking for a senior journalist who can break yarns and regularly deliver original stories for a digital audience. If you are a go-getter with a track record of writing exclusive stories that appeal to a Victorian and national audience now is your chance to work in the ABC's bustling Melbourne newsroom.
- You'll be expected to regularly deliver stories for the ABC's digital platforms.
- You'll have strong contacts and continue to develop and foster a network of sources to help deliver original content.
- You will write impactful stories that demonstrate highly advanced journalistic craft.
- Have a thorough understanding of current local and national news, events and issues.
You are an accomplished journalist with experience working in a news environment and a thorough understanding of online news, including social media and methods of online content distribution and engagement. The successful candidate will also have the following skills:
- Proven track record of breaking stories and delivering original news content.
- Thorough knowledge of Victorian issues and events.
- Meticulous writing skills with an ability to produce fast and accurate copy of the highest standard.
- Solid newsroom experience.
- A collaborative team-centred workstyle.
