About the role
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Rollingstock Technical Assurance Manager to join our dynamic team based in Brisbane CBD. The successful candidate will be responsible for the monitoring and daily oversight of the technical integrity, quality, safety and reliability of the New Generation Rollingstock (NGR) fleet. 

 

As the Operator and Asset Owner representative, you will be required to work closely with a number of external parties including DTMR and ProjectCo who are responsible for the design, build and maintenance of the NGR fleet. 

 

The position includes managing a team of four direct reports, providing direct RPEQ supervision and leading technical and design reviews for NGR fleet and assets.


Day-to-day responsibilities of this role will include
•    Lead and manage the Technical Assurance processes for the NGR fleet, ensuring compliance with all relevant standards, regulations, and contractual requirements. 
•    Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including engineering teams, and third party contractors, to ensure effective communication and resolution of technical issues.
•    Monitor and report on the performance of the NGR fleet, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
•    Provide expert technical advice and support to other teams, ensuring that all technical aspects of the NGR program are effectively managed and delivered.
•    Oversee the investigation and resolution of technical incidents and issues, ensuring timely and effective solutions are implemented.
•    Provide engineering approvals in respect to change management
•    Supervise and mentor a team of four engineers and technicians, ensuring their professional development and performance alignment with project goals.

About you
•    Bachelor’s degree in engineering, preferably in Mechanical, Electrical, or a related field.
•    RPEQ Qualified.
•    Proven experience in a Technical Assurance or engineering management role within the rail industry, with a focus on rolling stock.
•    Strong understanding of rail industry standards, regulations, and safety requirements.
•    Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
•    Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
•    Experience in managing and leading a team, with a focus on development and performance management.
