Richmond Anglican Church is seeking to appoint a full-time assistant minister to take on pastoral oversight of our 6pm evening congregation, with a particular focus on ministry amongst Young Adults. Starting January 2025.
Key Responsibilities
- Pastoral oversight of 6pm congregation. This will include participation in shared preaching across all 3 congregations; administrative oversight of the 6pm congregation; development and oversight of systems to aid the growth and maturity of the 6pm congregation.
- Strategic oversight of ministry to Young Adults. This will include working closely with our youth pastor to develop discipleship pathways for school leavers; developing a network for the growth of Young Adults; and integrating Young Adults into the intergenerational life of the church.
- General ministry responsibilities as a member of the staff team.
Requirements
- A personal godliness, ministry practice, and heart to serve that is fuelled by firm gospel conviction.
- Passionate to see the lost saved and believers grow as followers of Jesus.
- Committed to discipleship, training, and evangelism.
- Aims to improve, develop and multiply ministry, not just maintain existing ministry.
- Theological training (bachelor’s degree or higher)
- Able to minister across a spectrum of ages and an enthusiasm for ministry to Young Adults.
- Able to work in a team environment.
Other opportunities
For the right candidate, there may also be further opportunities for the role to include other areas of specialised ministry. Including:
- Opportunity to start a new ministry on the local Western Sydney University, Hawkesbury Campus/Richmond TAFE. There is currently no evangelical ministry at the Hawkesbury Campus. The right candidate may be in a position to assess the viability of developing such a ministry.
- Develop a key area of ministry in the church. In time, the right candidate may be able to provide strategic oversight to one of our key areas of ministry. Eg, Evangelism & Integration, Bible Study groups, Ministry Teams.
