AddressCoolmore Australia, a leading thoroughbred horse stud located in Jerrys Plains in the Upper Hunter Valley of NSW, is seeking applications for an experienced Nightshift Foaling Attendant.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the foaling down of a large number of broodmares during the foaling season and provide pre and post-natal care to broodmares and foals.
You will be required to start in late July and work for the duration of the foaling season.
Essential Criteria
- Knowledge and experience of horse handling methods specific to thoroughbreds, including complex foaling cases.
- Proven ability to work with neonatal cases.
- Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction and provide information and advice to others.
- Ability to work in a team and independently.
- Knowledge of safe operation of all equipment and use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses.
