The successful candidate:
We are looking for leaders with the skills, experience, and knowledge to build key networks within identified areas of business and industry with proven success working at a senior or board level.
In the first instance the successful candidate will meet the following role requirements:
- A knowledge and understanding of the obligations of a company director
- An ability to think strategically and engage stakeholders
- An understanding of and commitment to promote the unique commercial and social enterprise objectives of C-Res, the Local Buying Program and the Local Buying Foundation
- Excellent commercial and organisational skills that contribute to business performance and success.
- Superior communication and effective meeting skills
- An understanding of the dynamics of Traditional Owner and Indigenous Businesses
Due to our Boards rotation policy, the skill set related to this position involves the following competencies:
- Marketing and stakeholder engagement
- Strategic thinking and development
- Technology and innovation, information systems and platforms, including experience with cybersecurity
- NFP/social enterprise knowledge
- Small business and/or regional communities, with knowledge of the Western Australian business environment with mining companies an advantage.
- Understanding cross-industry and emerging trends and implications to the business
Formal qualifications in a relevant discipline relating to a field or fields of expertise will be highly regarded as will company director experience and proof of results in a similar environment.
The Role:
The Non-Executive Director role plays a crucial role in the strategic planning and ongoing development of organisational operations for C-Res, which delivers the Local Buying Program (LBP), in partnership with BHP and delivers the Local Buying Foundation. C-Res is a regionally based cost-neutral organisation.
About C-Res:
C-Res is Australia's leading small, local, and Indigenous Businesses procurement specialist.
We deliver BHP’s Local Buying Program (LBP) and administer the Local Buying Foundations (LBF) in partnership with BHP. C-Res was first established in 2012 to deliver the LBP in Queensland for BHP Mitsubishi Alliance (BMA) and administer the LBF. Since then, the Program’s continuing success has seen it expand to all BHP Minerals Australia Assets, along with the Foundation in eligible communities across Queensland, New South Wales, South Australia, and Western Australia.
Put simply, through the Local Buying Program, we connect small businesses to big business for sustained economic and social impact, increasing spend and business growth in small local and indigenous businesses throughout the regions in which we operate.
C-Res is a subsidiary of Greater Whitsunday Alliance Limited (GW3), and our head office is located in Mackay, Queensland.
