About the Role:
This is a Full Time ongoing role within the Medical Imaging Department. New graduates with a keen interest in paediatric Nuclear Medicine are encouraged to apply.
As a Grade 2 Nuclear Medicine Technologist you will be supported to learn, develop, and apply specialist paediatric skills across all areas of Nuclear Medicine and PET/MRI. You will also be given the opportunity to learn or improve skills in DEXA (BMD) and diagnostic CT, following appropriate supported training. You will be required to participate in weekend on-call after a suitable training period.
What You'll Achieve:

  • Perform all Nuclear Medicine and PET examinations as per protocol to ensure accuracy and consistency in diagnostic quality for both elective and emergency referrals
  • Interact with patients and families in a professional and empathetic manner facilitating patient through-put and high satisfaction
  • Ensure safety or patients and staff by practising applicable radiation safety procedures, in order to adhere to applicable government legislation and the ALARA principle
Your Skills and Experience:
  • A keen interest or prior exposure in paediatric imaging, PET and/or DEXA (BMD) is not essential but would be viewed favourably.
  • B App. Sci. in Medical Radiations - Nuclear Medicine (or equivalent)
  • Eligible for appropriate Victorian DHHS radiation use license incorporating diagnostic Nuclear Medicine and radiopharmaceuticals (Diagnostic and Therapeutic)
  • You have a valid AHPRA Registration

About the Department:
As part of the Division of Surgery, an exciting opportunity exists to join our very experienced and supportive team in providing quality Nuclear Medicine and PET services to our patients and referrers. The RCH performs full laboratory and clinical Nuclear Medicine imaging including SPECT/CT, and our world-leading clinical paediatric PET/MRI service - the paediatric world reference site for Siemens Biograph mMR.
