About the Women's Health Clinics
The Women’s Health Clinics provides tertiary level care for women/people with gynaecological problems, complex menopause issues, gynaecological and breast cancers, urogynaecological problems and Sexual and Reproductive health needs. The Clinics also provide outpatient procedures such as urodynamics, cystoscopy, insertion of the contraceptive intrauterine device and implants, colposcopies and genital skin biopsies.
The Sexual and Reproductive Services are a specialty service within the Women’s Health Clinics. The Abortion and Contraceptive Service (ACS) provides abortion and contraception procedures, counselling support services and post abortion management. Sexual Health (SH) manage sexually transmissible infections and blood borne viruses; in non-pregnant women and Early pregnancy assessment service (EPAS) manage early pregnancy loss. Services provided include community liaison, outpatient consultation, day surgery procedures and inpatient treatment. The Sexual and Reproductive service participates in clinical research and health promotion.
About the Role
The Nurse Practitioner working within the Sexual and Reproductive service, must meet registration requirements as a Nurse Practitioner by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia, or be working towards the same. As the Nurse Practitioner in the Sexual and Reproductive service (SRSNP) you will be recognised as a highly skilled and valuable member of the multidisciplinary team with advanced knowledge and skills. You will promote nursing and explore the boundaries of nursing practice through the use of evidence based and best practice literature.
The endorsed Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a registered practitioner with the Nursing and midwifery board (NMBA). The NP meets and complies with the NP standards for practice, has direct clinical contact and practices within their scope under the legislatively protected title ‘Nurse Practitioner’ under the National Law. The NP conducts advanced, comprehensive, and holistic health assessment to clients within our community.
The SRSNP will provide management and comprehensive outpatient services to the highest standards for women attending the service. This service includes the Abortion and Contraceptive Service (ACS), Sexual Health Service (SHS) including the rapid access service and Early Pregnancy Assessment Service (EPAS).
A regular day will see you:
- Provide examination and diagnostic assessment for individuals with a cervix.
- Provide individual consultations on a wide range of Sexual and Reproductive health issues incorporating a broader primary care and social model of health focus.
- Provide nursing clinical expertise to the assessment, development, implementation and monitoring of a comprehensive plan of care for patients throughout their outpatient journey in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
About you
You’ll bring with you:
- Experience as a Nurse Practitioner and a proven high level of knowledge in Sexual and Reproductive health, specialising in women's health
- Recent leadership and management experience including change managment, coaching and development and managing and measuring performance.
