About the role
The Nurse Unit Manager provides operational leadership and management of an evidence based and contemporary clinical nursing service within Medical Imaging- West Moreton Health. The Nurse Unit Manager positively influences nursing colleagues to develop in the areas of advanced clinical nursing skills, patient and staff education, patient flow, resource management and service planning.
The NUM role:
- has an advanced level of autonomous professional practice.
- has an advanced level of decision making in collaboration.
- will undertake operational leadership.
- will work collectively to apply the principles of clinical governance; and
- will apply professional and clinical expertise in collaboration with nursing and other stakeholders.

About you
Our ideal candidate will be someone who can demonstrate the following:
- Demonstrated ability to apply specialised knowledge of contemporary nursing practice and theory in Medical Imaging nursing and to participate directly and indirectly in the delivery of clinical care.
- Demonstrated ability to apply effective management skills including financial skills and specialised knowledge of contemporary clinical knowledge and skills in Medical Imaging management.
- Demonstrated advanced and effective communication, relationship development and maintenance and change management skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong relationships, strong teams within a framework of open communication and the establishment of a positive environment across the broad clinical interprofessional team, actively contributing to the learning and development of others within Medical Imaging.
- Demonstrated contemporary management knowledge and skills specifically the ability to deliver effective human resource management and advanced financial literacy within the healthcare environment.
- Demonstrated skill in financial management, data analysis, outcome evaluation, service improvement and the ability to communicate these effectively to senior management or external agencies.
Mandatory Requirements:
- Vaccinated against, and remain vaccinated against, certain vaccine preventable diseases (VPD) as outlined in the Health Employment Directive NO. 01/16
