Summary:
The Nursing Educator develops and implements educational programs for nursing staff in healthcare facilities. They must be knowledgeable about the latest developments in healthcare and nursing practices and deliver this knowledge in a clear and concise manner.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and deliver educational programs for nursing staff in healthcare facilities.
- Conduct training sessions and workshops to improve the knowledge and skills of nursing staff.
- Create course materials, lesson plans, and other instructional materials to support educational programs.
- Assess the educational needs of nursing staff and create individualised development plans.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of educational programs and make improvements as needed.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in healthcare and nursing practices by attending conferences, reading publications, and conducting research.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure educational programs are in line with best practices.
- Serve as a mentor and coach to nursing staff.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
- Active nursing license.
- Advanced nursing degree preferred.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a nurse educator.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and other educational software.
- Ability to work flexible hours.
- Strong leadership skills.
