Northern NSW Local Health District is seeking a Nursing Unit Manager to be responsible for the efficient management of the nursing and other relevant staff under their delegation and coordination of the provision of nursing care in the Chronic Disease program/clinical stream. Managing a range of services, including, but not limited to: Chronic Disease Management, Chronic Care Programs (Diabetes, Respiratory, Pulmonary and Cardiac). Leading nursing staff, ensuring effective liaison between all health professionals and responsible for the environment, work, and health and safety management in the Chronic Disease program /clinical stream. Clinician engagement and leadership has been a prominent feature of the public health system for a number of years, where clinician led clinical standards, safety and quality improvements have become a major focus. The Local Health District (LHD) is committed to the strengthening and ongoing involvement and clinician engagement of staff that provide direct patient care in the planning, delivery, improvement, and evaluation of health services.

If you have:
- Current registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) and a post graduate qualification in leadership/management, with experience in the provision of Chronic Disease health services. Valid unrestricted drivers’ licence for use in NSW/Australia and willingness to travel in the course of employment
- Extensive nursing management experience and leadership skills with proven ability to create and maintain a positive workplace culture and articulate and achieve a vision for nursing services
- Ability to effectively lead a nursing team within a complex multidisciplinary team environment
- Competence in relevant clinical and workforce management applications
