The Rehabilitation ward at Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital is seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Registered Nurse to join their team as the Nursing Unit Manager on a permanent full-time position.

Where you'll be working
Hornsby Ku-ring-gai Hospital has an established admitted patient rehabilitation ward and is also opening an additional rehabilitation ward in early April 2024. The position being recruited is within the established rehabilitation ward, as part of the multi-disciplinary team. The unit boasts dedicated staff who work together to provide evidence-based patient-centred care, teamwork, and regular learning opportunities.
What you'll be doing
The Nurse Unit Manager is responsible for leadership of the nursing team, operational management of the ward, Including Patient flow, rostering and resource allocation as well as working collaboratively with the Multidisciplinary team to ensure the provision of high-quality patient centred care by attending ward rounds where appropriate, and leading discussions with medical, nursing and allied health professions. The Nurse Unit Manager is an exemplary role model, maintaining a high level of communication and establishing relationships and trust within the ward. The Nurse Unit Managers ensure the human, physical and financial resources of the ward are managed, to deliver safe and efficient healthcare within available resources.

Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Registered Nurse-Division 1 with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (APHRA) and Relevant management tertiary qualification OR equivalent work experience, OR a combination of study and work experience; and demonstrated commitment to professional development.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, manage and support a clinical team, and knowledge and/or experience in change management and initiating a new service delivery model within an established service.
- Evidence of and commitment to patient/customer focussed care, clinical governance and quality improvement.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in Microsoft Applications, roster management systems and electronic medical records.
