About the Job
Join a multi-disciplinary health team in the delivery of the Children's Ground Approach, working under the Family health and Wellbeing Framework - Health in the Hands of the People. The platform aims to improve health and wellbeing outcomes for children, their families and the broader Arrernte Alice Springs community. Our Nutrition team plan and prepare all the meals for our Early Years Learning sessions daily, plan staff lunches, order food, provide nutritional advice and promote health eating habits.
The position at times will involve working in outdoor conditions, sitting, standing, moving in/out of vehicles on country and in heat, supporting the Children's Ground approach.
Duties included but not limited to:
- Work closely with children and families within early learning (on country at the central hub and local community centres)
- Support the delivery of health and wellbeing information
- Provide guidance, support and share knowledge with the Nutrition team members
- Ensure food safety standards are maintained in food storage, preparation and provision
- Support the delivery of early years learning - both on country and at the hub
- ensure data and information is recorded to meet the monitoring and evaluation needs of the Family Health and Wellbeing team
- Help develop resources including videos, books, nutritional information/education material
About You
We are seeking someone with relevant experience in Health Promotion &/or Nutrition who has worked in a busy kitchen and has knowledge of food safety standards. Someone who can plan nutritional requirements of early years and work with local Arrernte families around Nutrition and Health Promotion.
A current valid drivers license is essential and you must be able to obtain OCHRE card and ability to undergo a National Police Clearance.
