Our very large Federal Government Client is looking for an ObjectStar Database Administrator to lead the migration and decommissioning of ObjectStar databases. They will apply innovative analysis techniques and model results and scenarios, while maintaining the integrity of the system. ObjectStar Database Administrators are proficient in the ObjectStar environment, experienced in COBOL, JCL, VSAM and knowledgeable in CICS and DB2. They will use their experience and an expert level of proficiency across a number of contemporary ICT systems. The ObjectStar Database Administrator will exercise a considerable degree of independence and undertake a leadership role, with work performed under the general guidance of the leadership team.
Key Tasks/Duties/Requirements - Database Administration Expert:
- Support the migration of data from ObjectStar Table Data Store (TDS) to DB2(z/OS).
- Migration of ObjectStar TDS to DB2(z/OS).
- Create table definitions in DB2 (z/OS).
- Creation of alias of ObjectStar to new DB2 tables.
- Usage of FORALL INSERTS to copy data to new datastore Analysis, modification and recompiling of existing COBOL modules.
- Remap existing IMS mapped tables into the DB2 mapped gateway (IM2 Gateway).
- Solve complex Data Migration problems and deliver high quality outcomes.
