Thomas Embling Hospital,?located in Fairfield?just 15 minutes north of the Melbourne city centre.?Due to our announced expansion, we have a need for experienced, like-minded professionals to join our team. Thomas Embling Hospital is a secure mental health facility, a 134-bed hospital providing acute care, rehabilitation, and continuing care programs. With planned expansion commencing 2024 with a significant increase in access to care, we will have a dedicated Women's service and an additional medium secure men's facility. About the Role:
An Occupational Therapy role encompassing skills across mental health, physical health within an extended care, forensic rehabilitation unit.
Duties:
- OT evidenced based assessment and interventions for individuals with severe mental ill health, forensic and physical health concerns.
- Planning, implementing and evaluating therapeutic group programs.
- Working collaboratively and providing OT input into an MDT environment.
About You:
- Knowledge and a keen interest in working with consumers with severe mental ill health within a forensic hospital setting.
- Experience of working with those with severe mental ill health and/or within a forensic setting.
- Keen to work in an OT specific role, within a MDT.
What you need:
- Approved degree in Occupational Therapy recognised for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia – Australian Association of Occupational Therapists.
- Registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulations Agency (AHPRA).
- The successful candidate will be required to register their qualifications on eCredentials.
